Transforming the Classroom with iPads

Reblogged from nancyrubin:

Combine 29 fifth graders, 15 iPads, and one gifted teacher and what do you get? A truly transformed classroom.

This video shows how iPads can be integrated into classrooms and used successfully (which is kind of important). What is interesting to note is that this class appears to use every kind of learning tool for instruction. It doesn't focus only on technology, students are allowed to use whatever form of learning they want to (which always needs to be taken into consideration). The video is about 20 minutes long, so if you're short on time just watch it over a couple of days.

About matt sutton

I'm elementary special education teacher. Everyone has different learning styles and as students and teachers we've got to make it all fit together. I surround my students and myself with technology every day in hopes that we all learn more effectively. The most critical point for (any) student learning is their engagement in material. There is not limit to what that entails which is why it is so important to keep everything an option. Teaching students is a constantly moving target and we can't limit our resources. I also don't like frogs.

Totally wish we had iPads when I was in school – I’ve found several apps that would have helped me a lot (and I use them today). Very cool that schools are integrating technology to make learning a bit more fun.
